This concert is one of four in Cumbria organised through the ACE Orchestras Live scheme, also supported by the Northern Rock Foundation.

Young artists feature in three concerts - Elizabeth Watts (soprano) winner of the 2007 Cardiff Singer of the World lieder prize with Simon Lepper (piano); the Rautio Piano Trio with John Casken giving a pre-concert talk on his Piano Trio; the Barbirolli String Quartet in Beethoven, Berg and Brahms.
